Cargo at Heathrow Airport is continuing to slow down in July with volumes falling by 2.1 per cent year-on-year.
The airport handled 140,241 tonnes in July with most regions of the world falling two to three per cent.
North America was the biggest trade lane at 49,695 tonnes, down 3.1 per cent; followed by Asia Pacific, which declined 2.4 per cent to 42,841 tonnes.
The Middle East was down 1.9 per cent to 22,012 tonnes, the European Union (EU) by 3.1 per cent to 8,870 tonnes and Africa by 3.5 per cent to 7,251 tonnes.
Non-EU European cargo was up 8.8 per cent to 5,075 tonnes, Latin America increased by 4.2 per cent to 4,403 tonnes and the UK grew by 9.7 per cent to 94 tonnes.
Cargo is up 1.6 per cent to 981,690 tonnes on a year-to-date basis and by 5.2 per cent to 1.7 million tonnes on a rolling 12-month basis between August 2017 and July 2018.
