Premier Asian logistics exhibition attracts more than 47,000 industry professionals as multimodal transport, air cargo, digitalisation and supply chain resilience dominate industry agenda
Shanghai, China: transport logistic & air cargo Shanghai 2026 has concluded with record-breaking attendance and unprecedented international participation, reinforcing its position as Asia’s leading exhibition for logistics, mobility, information technology and supply chain management.
Held from 24 to 26 June at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), the event demonstrated the logistics industry’s accelerating transformation towards resilient supply chains, multimodal connectivity, digital innovation and sustainable transportation solutions. Organised by Messe München and Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co., Ltd., the exhibition brought together the world’s leading logistics service providers, airlines, airports, ports, rail operators, technology companies and supply chain specialists under one roof.
The 2026 edition surpassed every previous milestone, covering more than 52,000 square metres of exhibition space and featuring 939 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions, representing an impressive 18 percent increasecompared with the 2024 edition. air cargo Shanghai records its largest-ever edition
One of the standout achievements of the 2026 exhibition was the remarkable expansion of air cargo Shanghai, which recorded its largest footprint since its inception.
Driven by the continued growth of cross-border e-commerce, high-value manufacturing exports and demand for time-critical logistics services, the dedicated air cargo exhibition expanded to 15,000 square metres, representing a remarkable 150 percent increase compared with the previous edition.
The expansion required two exhibition halls and featured airlines, airports, cargo terminals, freight forwarders, ground handling companies and logistics technology providers from around the world, with international exhibitors accounting for nearly half of the participants.
Industry leaders noted that the larger exhibition reflected the increasing strategic importance of Asia-Pacific air cargo networks in supporting global commerce.
Cathay Pacific Cargo described the event as significantly larger than previous editions, with higher exhibitor participation and growing interest in digitalisation and artificial intelligence solutions for cargo operations.
Meanwhile, Hubei International Logistics Airport highlighted the exhibition’s ability to bring together every major stakeholder across the global air cargo supply chain, enabling productive discussions between airports, airlines, logistics providers and cargo operators.
Rail freight and multimodal logistics gain momentum
Rail transport emerged as one of the fastest-growing sectors at the exhibition as demand continues to rise for resilient Eurasian logistics corridors.
The dedicated rail transport exhibition expanded to 6,000 square metres, led by China Railway Container Transportalongside major international rail freight operators and inland port authorities.
The showcase highlighted the expanding role of the China-Europe Railway Express in diversifying international supply chains, reducing dependence on traditional shipping routes and supporting environmentally sustainable freight transport between Asia and Europe.
International rail operators emphasised the exhibition’s importance as a platform for engaging with decision-makers and strengthening long-term customer relationships.
Digitalisation and green logistics take centre stage
Innovation remained a defining theme throughout the exhibition, with dedicated zones focusing on logistics digitalisation, intelligent transport systems, autonomous vehicles and sustainable road freight solutions.
Exhibitors showcased advanced applications of artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, unmanned logistics systems, smart warehousing technologies and connected transport platforms designed to improve operational efficiency while supporting carbon reduction objectives.
Technology providers and logistics companies reported strong customer interest in integrated logistics platforms capable of delivering complete end-to-end supply chain visibility.
The exhibition also featured leading postal operators, e-commerce logistics companies, commercial vehicle manufacturers and technology innovators demonstrating practical applications of AI and automation across logistics operations.
Industry forums focus on future supply chains
Complementing the exhibition, organisers hosted 26 high-level industry forums covering critical topics including artificial intelligence, autonomous logistics, multimodal transport optimisation, rail freight development, air cargo innovation and supply chain resilience.
The conference programme brought together senior executives, policymakers, academics and logistics experts to discuss emerging challenges and opportunities facing global supply chains amid evolving geopolitical and economic conditions.
