New business will provide airline cargo representation in Iceland, with Air China named as its first customer.
Airline cargo sales and service specialist Kales Group has expanded into Iceland through a joint venture with TVG-Zimsen, an Icelandic freight forwarding and logistics provider.
The new business, operating as Kales Iceland, will provide general sales and service agent (GSSA) services to airlines seeking to develop their cargo operations in the Icelandic market. Its activities will include commercial representation and building relationships with local freight forwarders, exporters and importers.
Air China is the venture’s first announced airline customer, having appointed Kales Iceland to support its cargo business in the country. The appointment comes as the Chinese carrier prepares to launch a new passenger service connecting Beijing and Keflavík via Copenhagen on 26 October 2026.
The route is scheduled to operate three times weekly using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, providing cargo capacity in the aircraft’s belly hold alongside passenger operations.
The partnership brings together Kales Group’s international airline representation experience and TVG-Zimsen’s local market knowledge and logistics network. TVG-Zimsen is part of Icelandic transport group Eimskip.
Kales Iceland aims to strengthen links between international airlines and Icelandic businesses by developing cargo sales opportunities and improving access to global air freight networks. The joint venture will operate as an independent representative for airlines in the local market.
The launch adds Iceland to Kales Group’s international cargo representation network and gives airlines another option for developing commercial cargo activity in the country.
