| Daily Road Feeder Service supports resilient cargo flows between the United Arab Emirates and Oman, including widebody-compatible shipments, perishables, and general cargo |
| Oman Air Cargo has introduced a daily Road Feeder Service (RFS) between Muscat, Oman, and Dubai, UAE, in a move designed to give shippers greater flexibility across one of the Middle East’s most active intra-regional cargo corridors. The new service is intended to complement air freight operations by moving cargo by truck between the two gateways, helping customers handle larger consignments and improve overall connectivity between the two markets. According to the announcement, the daily service is geared toward a wider mix of shipments, including perishables and general cargo, while also accommodating freight that may not fit on narrowbody aircraft. That makes the new product particularly relevant for time-sensitive and volume-driven sectors that depend on predictable cross-border movement and reliable handover between air and road networks. Oman Air Cargo’s official network and product pages underline the carrier’s focus on Muscat as a hub and on bespoke cargo handling, including special commodities such as pharma and fresh produce. Michael Duggan, Head of Cargo at Oman Air, said the service is intended to expand flexibility for cargo movement between Dubai and Muscat while supporting changing regional supply chains. He added that Oman Air Cargo remains focused on dependable, customer-centric transport solutions that help sustain trade across the Middle East. The launch also fits neatly with the carrier’s wider positioning of Muscat as a logistics gateway connecting Oman with regional and long-haul markets. Strategically, the route strengthens Oman’s role as a logistics bridge in the Gulf, where road-and-air combinations are increasingly important for keeping cargo moving efficiently across borders. For exporters, forwarders, and consolidators, the service offers an additional option for moving goods between the UAE and Oman without relying solely on bellyhold capacity, while also supporting smoother flows for perishables and other urgent shipments. The timing of the announcement also aligns with Oman Air Cargo’s active commercial calendar. The company has confirmed that its team will attend Air Cargo Shanghai from 24–26 June 2026, where it is expected to continue engaging customers and partners on network development and cargo solutions. |
