Industry leaders, innovators and decision-makers gather in Poland to discuss the future of air cargo, sustainability, digital transformation and emerging market opportunities
The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) successfully concluded its Executive Summit 2026 in Warsaw, Poland, bringing together more than 320 senior executives, industry experts, innovators and stakeholders from across the global air cargo value chain for three days of strategic dialogue, market intelligence and industry collaboration.
Held from June 1-3 and hosted by LOT Polish Airlines and Port Polska, the summit reinforced its position as one of the air cargo industry’s leading executive forums, providing a platform for discussions on leadership, sustainability, digitalization, workforce development, market trends and the evolving dynamics shaping global supply chains.
The event also highlighted the growing strategic importance of Central and Eastern Europe within the international logistics landscape, with Poland emerging as an increasingly significant player in regional and global cargo development.
Poland Showcases Its Ambition as a Future Cargo Hub
Opening the summit, Dr. Filip Czernicki, Chief Executive Officer of Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) and Port Polska Programme, emphasized the significance of Poland hosting one of the industry’s most influential gatherings for the first time.
Addressing delegates, Dr. Czernicki described the event as recognition of Poland’s expanding role within the international logistics ecosystem and outlined the country’s ambitions to become a major cargo gateway connecting Europe with global markets.
He presented the vision behind the Port Polska programme and Cargo City, an integrated logistics and industrial development planned around the future Central Communication Port (CPK). The project aims to combine advanced cargo infrastructure, industrial investment zones and a Free Customs Area within a single ecosystem designed to support airlines, logistics providers, manufacturers and e-commerce operators.
According to Dr. Czernicki, the long-term objective is to establish one of Europe’s most technologically advanced and digitally integrated cargo hubs capable of supporting future growth in e-commerce, specialized cargo handling and sustainable logistics operations.
The presentation drew considerable interest from delegates, many of whom viewed the project as a potential catalyst for strengthening Central Europe’s position within global air cargo networks.
New Features Bring Fresh Perspectives
A notable feature of this year’s Executive Summit was the introduction of several new program elements aimed at enhancing engagement and broadening industry perspectives.
Among the highlights was the inaugural keynote address delivered by internationally recognized speaker and former CNN news anchor Olivia Kinghorst. Her presentation focused on leadership, adaptability and embracing change in an increasingly complex business environment, encouraging delegates to prepare proactively for future industry disruptions.
The summit also featured a special Fireside Chat with Michał Grochowski, Cargo and Mail Director at LOT Cargo, who reflected on LOT Cargo’s 30-year journey and the company’s evolution into a significant player within the European cargo market.
Another well-received addition was the interactive Open Session with respected industry veteran Jan Krems, which provided attendees with personal insights into his career and life beyond the air cargo sector.
Adding a lighter yet engaging element to the event was the inaugural Air Cargo Mastermind Challenge, a competitive industry knowledge contest designed to encourage networking, collaboration and friendly competition among delegates.
Industry Challenges and Opportunities Take Center Stage
Throughout the three-day program, participants examined some of the most pressing issues facing the air cargo industry.
Executive Leadership Roundtables explored strategic priorities for navigating market uncertainty and sustaining long-term growth, while dedicated sessions addressed digital transformation, sustainability initiatives, workforce development, e-commerce expansion and regional cargo opportunities.
A particular focus was placed on Central and Eastern Europe, reflecting the region’s increasing relevance as supply chains continue to diversify and global trade patterns evolve.
Delegates also benefited from four Market Intelligence sessions delivered by leading industry analysts, offering in-depth assessments of current market conditions, economic trends and future cargo demand forecasts.
The sessions provided valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing airlines, freight forwarders, airports and logistics providers as the industry adapts to shifting geopolitical dynamics, changing consumer behavior and accelerating technological innovation.
