DHL Supply Chain Türkiye and Biogen Türkiye have expanded their logistics partnership to cover temperature-controlled storage, warehouse management, active distribution and value-added services, strengthening the handling of sensitive healthcare products across Türkiye.
The agreement builds on a collaboration launched last year with storage services. Under the expanded arrangement, Biogen products will be managed at a DHL Supply Chain facility in Istanbul, where they will be stored at temperatures between 2°C and 8°C under enhanced security and quality controls.
The integrated service will bring warehouse operations, storage, value-added activities and distribution under a broader logistics arrangement. Deliveries to healthcare institutions across Türkiye will be carried out using temperature-controlled vehicles equipped with real-time tracking systems, supporting shipment visibility and the maintenance of required conditions during transit.
To accommodate the expanded operation, DHL Supply Chain Türkiye has increased its fleet of active temperature-controlled vehicles. The additional capacity is intended to support Biogen’s distribution requirements while further developing DHL’s life sciences and healthcare logistics capabilities in the Turkish market.
Buket Cox, country managing director of DHL Supply Chain Türkiye, said the expanded partnership would provide a more integrated service for temperature-sensitive treatments. She emphasised the importance of product integrity, quality and delivery reliability in healthcare logistics, where supply continuity can directly affect patients’ access to treatment.
Ömer Faruk Arslan, country head of Biogen Türkiye, said reliable supply chain solutions were essential to maintaining access to treatments for people living with complex and rare diseases. He said the company would continue to focus on delivering products on time and under the required conditions.
The agreement comes as DHL Group increases investment in specialised healthcare logistics. In April 2025, the group announced plans to invest €2 billion by 2030 to strengthen its global life sciences and healthcare capabilities. The programme includes investment in pharmaceutical hubs, temperature-controlled storage and transport, specialised cooling infrastructure and technology to improve end-to-end shipment visibility.
More recently, DHL Global Forwarding announced six additional dedicated air corridors for its Health Logistics Cold Chain Network, linking European and North American gateways with pharmaceutical and healthcare hubs in Asia. The routes include Liège–Shanghai, Brussels–Shanghai, Brussels–Singapore, Cincinnati–Singapore, Cincinnati–Tokyo Narita and Cincinnati–Seoul Incheon.
The new corridors are designed to improve connectivity for temperature-sensitive healthcare products, including pharmaceuticals, biologics, vaccines and clinical-trial materials.
The expanded Biogen Türkiye agreement reflects the growing role of integrated logistics services in pharmaceutical supply chains, where secure storage, temperature control, shipment traceability and reliable distribution are critical to maintaining product quality from warehouse to healthcare provider.
