SF Airlines has inaugurated a new freighter service to Oslo Airport, aiming to support growing e-commerce and seafood trade between Norway and China. The service, which began on January 14, is operated using a Boeing 767 freighter.
The flight departs from Ezhou Huahu International Airport in China, with a stopover at Astana International Airport. The cargo on board will consist of express packages, e-commerce goods, and exports like Norwegian salmon bound for the Chinese market.
China is Norway’s largest seafood market in Asia and the fastest-growing globally, underscoring the critical need for reliable logistics links between the two countries. Oslo Airport operator Avinor emphasized the route’s strategic importance in facilitating trade.
“This marks SF Airlines’ first flight to Norway and also the first direct freight route from Ezhou to Oslo,” said Eva Beate Lande, Director of Cargo at Avinor. “It represents a significant milestone for Norwegian seafood exports and highlights the robust collaboration between Norway and China.”
Lande added that the new service would not only provide more efficient access to the Chinese market but also reinforce Norway’s position as a leading global exporter of seafood.
SF Airlines, which has rapidly expanded its operations since its founding in 2009, now operates a fleet of 87 aircraft, according to FlightRadar24. The airline has added an average of six freighters annually to its fleet and recently introduced its first Boeing 737-800 freighter, delivered this month.
